understanding path report

by T1N1MX, Jun 03, 2007 12:00AM
My first biopsy of a mass excised revealed infiltrating ductal carcinoma. I had a mastectomy and the path report showed more of the original tumor, infiltrating ductal carcinoma along with ductal carcinoma insitu. Is this common? Also, what is benign squamous metaplasia?

i have found a lot of the answers to my questions at webmd.com and then compared them to what my doctor tells me. web md is really accurate so give it a try. but most important is to ask your doctor and if your not satisfied with the doctors answer get a second opinion.
