very eglongated lymph node in arm pit

I've had previous breast issues just cysts removed and mri of left several years ago. Today had maamo and breast ultrasound. Dr came and told me I had very eglongated lymph node on inside of right arm pit. He asked if I had ever had any trauma to that area and I told him no. He said he would give my gyn dr the results and go from there. What does that mean?

A lot will depend on how long this lymph node has been enlarged. Often when a node does enlarge for some reason it may not return to a normal size. I would think that perhaps it will either be ignored (if it's been a long term condition) or investigated further if this is something quite new. Perhaps even a biopsy of the node may be done to determine the cause. Regards ....
