what to expect after excisional biopsy

what to expect after excisional biopsy

have 2 wire localized excisional biopsies done.  Surgeon said there are too far apart for on incision, so he will have to make 2, he also said they are deep.  He did explain the whole proceedure, but nothing about what to expect afterwards.  Do they do a frozen section right then? Any info or insight from someone who has had this would be appreciated.  I wanted a biopsy done, but now that it is scheduled, I'm more worried about the actual biopsy more than the results.  Thank you in advance.
p.s. the size of the lumps are #1 at 1:00 position is .77 cm x .53 cm, #2 at 3:00 position is .58 cm x .30 cm, still small which is the reason for wire localization.

You will have 2 small incisions, maybe 2 in. each or so unless there is something very unusual about the locations. No doubt you'll be sent home with a prescription for a mild pain medication and perhaps an ice pack. In my case it was diet and activity as tolerated and keep the area dry for a couple of days. The specimens removed will be sent to the Pathology Lab and you should have your results in 2 to 7 days post op. I had stitches that didn't need to be removed but that will depend on your Surgeon's routine. You should be able to have a detailed explanation of the Path. results when you see the Surgeon and this appnt. will probably be in either 5 or 7 days following your procedure.  Regards ....
