what to expect

i have an appointment to have a lump in my breast looked at on Thursday. it started out as a size of a pea about a year  ago & now has grown to the size of a large marble.  i'm worried that my doctor will just confirm the lump & play the wait & see game.  are there any tests or procedures i can request to happen at this visit?

BTW, i'm 38, healthy ( i eat right & am very physically active) & haven't had any health problems other than a hysterectomy for prolapses.

thank you.

Dear NINymph,  Likely the recommendation will be to have additional evaluation. Initially this would likely be a mammogram and/or ultrasound to see if this would help to better characterize what this is.  If after seeing your doctor and you are not content with their evaluation you could also seek a second opinion with a breast specialist, these are usually associated with large acedemic centers.
