Dear altinkum:  Tender lumps under the breast could be several things, including infection.  However, without examination it is impossible to speculate on what is happening in your case.  Most breast cancer is not painful.

I don't really have a comment. I have a question. I found a lump on my left breast near the breast bone, it's very painful if touched or if I lay on my stomach. Also my right arm has been swelling.  I have a doctors appointment for the up coming week. I kind of feel stupid for asking I know people say the lumps associated with cancer don't hurt but, should I worry?
