Breastfeeding and your cycle returning
I hope I am posting this in the right community. My son is just over 6 months now and I have been EBF. We did start solids (a little cereal once a day) around 5 months and that is when AF returned. It was a little heavier then previous cycles and a little longer so I knew that's what was happening. Now here is my question... My cycles when not on fertility treatments were around 28 days long, one time clomid dragged it out to 31 days but I am now 33 days into a cycle. Does BF make your cycle come and go? I feel a little silly asking this but it seems to strange to start then just stop. I have been having AF symptoms for about 2 weeks now so I am sure she is on her way sometime. Thanks for your help and if I am posting this in the wrong community please direct me to the right one :)

You are absolutely in the right place :)

When my period returned, it was very irregular for several cycles. The first came 4 weeks after i weaned, the next didn't come until 8 weeks later, the next another 6 or 7 weeks later, and so on until it finally went back to being a regular 30 day cycle. This is very common, and often discussed here- it takes a while for the hormones and cycles to get back to normal. Of course, pregnancy isn't out of the question, so if you have doubts or weird symptoms, you may want to consider a test.

Mine were irregular too. Before my first baby I was 28 days every month, once my cycles returned regularly they were actually 30 to 32 days between cycles and have been ever since.

Yes, my first 2 cycles after my last baby, before this one, were 58/59 days apart.  She was 9 months old before mine started again.  So it can take a while before you cycles become regular again.

My most recent baby just turned 4 months old so no AF yet.  I am EBF but will begin cereal soon but no sign of AF and I don't expect her to return anytime soon.  Not complaining either.  LOL!  Oh how I dread my menstral migraines and horrible cramps.  Before I got pregnant this last time, my doc actually had to prescribe some Tylenol 3 for me because 600 mg Ibuprofen was not cutting it anymore :(

I was EBF and mine came back at around 5- 5.5 months, was not very happy, would've liked AF to come back later......Every woman is different as you can see on this post. My sister didn't get AF back until she stopped BF at around 10-11 months. My cycles was irregular the whole time I was BF, that's how I become pregnant again. Sometimes they would come after 3 weeks, sometimes 4, 5 or 6 weeks.
