Am I pumping enough?

Am I pumping enough?

Hi everyone My LO will be 4 weeks on monday and through my absentmindedness I haven't been pumping because I thought BM would only last a month in the freezer.  Now that I know it lasts three in a regular freezer I started pumping.  I started on the 27th I pump when she's done feeding to empty my breasts.  My question is the most I have gotten is 2 ounces (1 from each breast) is this enough?  Am I only getting this much because she is eating a lot or is my production going down?  An hour ago I pumped after she ate and only got 1 ounce total out of both.  I'm worried my supply is diminishing.  I bought mothers milk tea i'm making a cup now hopefully that helps.  any comments would help, thanks.

Don't base supply on a pump. A baby is far more effective than a pump will ever be. I was lucky to get 2 ounces from both breasts when not engorged. When I was, I got a max of 8. I've never had supply issues. I would imagine though that since you're pumping after she's eating is why you're not getting much. I would always feed my daughter on one side, and pump the other. Just keep at it. :) You can also take Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle to help boost milk supply.

I never got more then 2 oz maybe 3 if I was lucky. Ibwa told to pump right after the baby ate and that's what wld build my milk up. I did have low milk supply and no reason ever found. But I do know by doing the baby's weight b4 & after eating that he was getting more then what I pumped. My baby(s) always had wet diapers but was very cranky a lot. I ended up having to supliment her w a Cple ounces of breast milk or formula after every meal. I was rare. Everyone said i had plenty milk and just keep pumping. Honestly it was exhausting.  Best of luck

I can barely get more than 3 ozs any time I pump and that's without DS feeding on it first. It all has to do with your pump...it will take a couple pumping sessions in order to get one full bottles worth. This is why I HATE pumping!! LOL I just give formula when I need to give him a bottle. I only pump when I'm super full and need to get rid of some milk which doesn't happen very often.
Keep at it though!

Thanks everyone that's reassuring.  She definitely is gaining weight I just hope i have enough milk for her when I go back to work.
allmymarbles- I'm pumping mainly because I want her to have BM when I go back to work and she doesn't fully empty my breasts and my OB said pumping would relieve the pain I was having all day, which it has.
