Any one have this issue.I couldnt get my two other children to breastfeed after my c-sections due to them giving a botlle while i was in recoveryRecovery position - series and all the drugs they had me on.I really want to breast feed this time around!!I wonder any advice.
I've had 2 c-sections and was able to breastfeed both babies soon afterwards. Our hospital posts a little sign in baby's bassinet if baby is to be breastfed only. The nurses should help you arrange pillows for you and baby to make the nursing sessions comfortable after your c-section. I'm bringing my boppy pillow to the hospital with me this time, I did not the other 2 times.
Take advantage of the lactation consultants if your hospital has them available. Very helpful!
Whether or not they give your little one a bottle or not is your decision. I dont think they should be allowed to do so unless you give permission.
They did that to me one night with my first daughter. Aparently, I was so tired they couldnt get me to wake up to nurse her in the middle of the night on the first night, so they gave her a bottle. The problem after that, was we could not get her to latch on properly after that point, and by 3 weeks she was getting as much blood from my nipple as she was milk. I coudlnt see how that was healthy for her and it hurt me very badly, so at 3 weeks she ended up on straight formula. Needless to say, I made sure they did not give my youngest daughter a bottle at all. I dont know if that is what caused the confusion for my first, but it makes sense. So, before you go in for your c section just tell them you do not want your little angel given a bottle because you want to breast feed only. Thats the best thing I can think of.
