Breastfeeding and..."cuddle time" with DH?

by brittanyann, Oct 26, 2009 12:09AM
I have a question...well more my husband has a question...I plan to breastfeed when we eventually have our children...
my husband wants to know how my milk supply will effect his.."play" time when we're in bed?
He's afraid hes going to get shot with milk if he grabs them....??

No one in my family breast fed so I have no one to ask and I'm actually kinda curious...what can and can't your husband do to them while you're breast feeding??

the first couple of days your milk comes in you'll be a little sore so you probably won't want to be touched, but after that you should be fine. might be a little messy, but what about sex isn't? ;)

LOL that's cute!   Your breasts will be tender and if stimulated will most likely squirt him in the eye : )....but if you know you are going to be "playing around"  I would nurse before or pump to empty out your breasts so it won't be an issue.  Among other things, sex, having an orgasm, nipple stimulation and warm baths, will stimulate your milk production.  It's all good...

I will say, once I started nursing, I stopped seeing my breasts as a sexual component to our relationship. That feeling lasted as long as I nursed and a little beyond.

Now that I am more than a year out from nursing, I have been able to enjoy it more as time passes. But while nursing it was not comfortable for me personally.

LOL! I have totally "squirted" my husband on accident. My husband, however, is not grossed out by my milk- he just laughs and moves on. As far as kissing that area I have never leaked milk while he was down there, and only really let down when my little one is nursing. So I guess there will be some mishaps, but not enough to make me stop nursing or my husband to become disinterested with my breasts.

mine become working boobs while nursing, but that's just me. They're huge and fun to look at though ;)

I find that breastfeeding gives me absolutely no sex drive. So that is not a problem in my house! I am not even sure why I bother taking the "mini-pill"

Oh, my poor husband! Hopefully this will not last forever!!!

By the way gals, your responses made me giggle!!!!!!!!!!!! : )

The mini-pill is helping to kill the sex drive. I found the exact same thing while nursing and taking depo with my first one, I did not need birth control as I was never interested :-) As soon as the depo wore off, my drive was back. Funny as it was never that way when I was on it before kids, seems like the combination of the depo and the nursing did me in.

Tired and Andi- Oh, wow! Sounds like my dh is going to be frustrated for awhile!! To top it off I was so afraid to have sex during my pregnancy, so we never did.

Ouch, it really has been a long time!

When I breast fed both of my children, I too, did not see my breasts as sexual components anymore, only as a way to nourish my children.  My breasts really got big once my milk came in and were always sore, so letting the hubby anywhere near them, was not an option.

My now ex husband, never thought it was gross if I had some leagage during intimate times.  I too, think he saw my breasts as "feeding stations," and no longer looked at them as a needed part of having sex.  He seemed to be a truly happy guy though, when I wasn't breast feeding any longer and had no more "milk accidents" on his chest.  It never failed...if there was any pressure on my chest, I would leak.

Hopefully all of your husband's see the occasional leaking of milk as a part of his wife and their new baby and will not be grossed out by it.  If there is anyone that makes a true mess during sex, it's the man.....LOL
