Breastfeeding while pregnant?

Hi: Just out of curiosity, has anyone breastfed their baby while pregnant or are there medical concerns when doing so? I have read articles that support both sides.

Haven't yet, but will try to get pregnant soon.  Will definitely continue to breastfeed my baby while pregnant and maybe even Tandem feedign of the new baby, depending how old the first one is and how I and the babies will be doing.

Thanks for your comment! I don't think I will do tandem feeding, but, if I can't wean her it might be a possibility!

I breastfed my dd while I was pregnant.  I found out I was pregnant when my baby was just turning 1, and continued to nurse her until she was 16 months old.  She was actually pretty easy to wean when the time came.  I didn't have any issues breastfeeding while pregnant, except it did reduce my supply quite a bit.

I breastfed my son until he was 11 months and I got pregnant again when he was almost 9 months. I didn't have any problems. He was nursing mostly in the morning and at night and maybe once during the day by that point as he was eating more solids. Once I became pregnant my milk supply changed a bit and he also didn't like the taste too much. I also noticed he was starting to spit up the milk after nursing. We slowly weaned and one night he took a bottle to bed instead of me! It's been 8 weeks now since he has nursed. My midwife did tandem feeding with her 2 children and loved it. I prefer having a little break until this baby is born and but if he had wanted to nurse longer, I wouldn't have stopped him.

Thanks everyone! I was a bit nervous about breast feeding and being pregnant that it might increase the chance of m/c or that my growing baby wouldn't get enough, but it sounds totally fine to breast feed when pregnant.
