Yes, it's actually better for the baby. Chances are the baby has already been exposed. Now the baby needs your antibodies which can be found in your breast milk. Be careful about medications you are taking though. I would ask your OBGYN or a pharmacist or pediatrician about which meds are safest.

Pamela is right. Keep breastfeeding- it'll help your little recover faster and help keep symptoms mild. Nature gave us a wonderful way to protect our children from illnesses, which seems even more important with the cold and flu season upon us.

Keep on breastfeeding. I still exclusively breastfeed, my little one will be 5 months next week and when I had a cold I still kept on breastfeeding her. You are restricted in particular medications but a runny nose is rather mild. Your baby is benefiting from breastfeeding in so many ways so kept on doing it.

And just to add... if your baby is sick, breastfeeding is even more important for her... as the breastmilk is perfect nutrition, easy to digest and has antibodies and other protection (chances are that you will also be exposed to the same bug, even if you don't get sick, and therefore also transfer additional antibodies to baby)....
