The small size of your breasts don't matter. In fact, it is the very large breasts that can present a problem.

my cup size is DDD what type of problems could that cause?

Not all women with large breasts have trouble breastfeeding. I am not exactly sure what causes the problem, when it does exist, but a nurse friend of mine  said that women with large breasts often had insufficient milk. I don't remember why.

you probably won't be an A much longer ;)

I started out as a B. When bf'ing I was at least a D at times. When all was said and done, I was a C. Despite having a smaller chest, I actually produced a LOT of milk- much more than many people with much larger breasts report (I know because I had to pump).

Jwilliams- from what I understand, women with larger breasts may have difficulties because it can be harder to position the baby or sometimes be a bit more challenging to get a good latch. This does not mean they can''t nurse successfully though. A good LC or even the nurses at the hospital can help you find a good and comfortable way to position the baby.

Tired... That helps a lot. After I read your post I googled it and a few sites gave some great advise.

Actually I was referring to an actual insufficiency unrelated to the possible awkwardness of large breasts.

I started as a 34A, BF'd DD 13 months without a problem, no supplements used.

Only a very few women have trouble breastfeeding. We hear about the problems, not the lack of problems, and that makes new mothers nervous. The whole business is as easy as it was designed to be.

They will definately get bigger. I went from a B-C cup to a DD now.

I agree. The awkwardness from a large breast size could be an issue, but there isn’t any evidence stating that the size of breasts plays a role in milk production. (Large or small)

And yes, taking a class or talking w/ an LC can help dodge barriers that happen frequently in our very modern world as hospitals routinely do things that can ultimately interfere w/ breastfeeding.
