Food poisoning & breastfeeding ?

I had a bout of food poisoning yesterday. I decided to stop nursing my son and instead I pumped and put the milk in the freezer. Does anyone know for sure if this milk is safe for him or not?

Check with La Leche League, but I would bet it's fine.

Yes, it's fine.  When a mother gets food poisoning, the bacteria stays in her intestinal tract, so the baby is protected from it. I had a bout of food poisoning after I had my first baby, and I had the same concern.  I called my lactation consultant and they encouraged me to nurse away!  : )

Thanks for the answers! Fortunately I was sick only for 1 day, my baby is OK as well and I'll plan on using my frozen milk.
