For fun - what was your largest amount pumped?

For fun - what was your largest amount pumped?

When your baby started sleeping through the night and you woke up before they did...  What is the most milk you've pumped in one session?  My 8 month old is just now starting to sleep all the way through the night and I woke up thinking I was going to burst!

About 14 or 15 ounces. Although when he was just a few weeks old I started feeding only one breast per feeding, I HAD to pump the other side first thing in the am because it was so engorged and I got 9 ounces from just one side a few times!

Lol. I was lucky to pump 8 ounces total in once session from both sides.

Maximum I've ever pumping in one session was 9 oz.  That was like Yippee!
Usually more like 4 - 5 oz was my usual amount.  Good thing my girl never drank more than 4 oz per session, even at 15 months.

I think I must have been a dairy cow in a previous life! Seriously, over supply is no fun though; I was constantly leaking, sore and had blocked ducts so many times and my son had several bouts of green poop because of too much fore milk. I think my son was 4 months old before it all settled down.

I dont even fit into the polls... my larges amount that I can remember is 6.5oz between both breasts. I am usually lucky to get 2-5oz per pumping depending on the time of day.

But I do know for a fact that my left breast does not have all the ducts like my left one does.. even when its at it's fullest it is tramendously smaller than the other side- I did everything I could in the begining to try and even it out without compromising the left one, but with no success.

Is it odd that I can feel the milk filling back up, it is a tingling/mild burning sensation that occurs after 20mins from nursing/pumping. It seems weird- before this baby I had little to no feelings in my breast/nipples (sorry TMI) and now that I can feel the milk refilling. There is times where I feel full and may even look it, but only get 2oz when I pump, I think they are like overkill now- extremely sensitive.

My largest amount was 12.5oz.  This was 2 months after returning to work so I fed before I left and still produced this much.  She was about 6 months old then. Thankfully, my supply has tapered down since she started eating solids regularly around 8 months old so on the rare fluke days the most I'll get is 9-11oz, which is always a welcome surprise since she plowed through most of the freezer stash months ago lol.

18 oz total!!! But, I was exclusively pumping- no nursing. So my goal was over-production :) This was a day when I slept a bit later and went almost 12 hours without pumping. My average at my peak output was up to 7-8 oz per side (maybe 16 oz total). I also had to pump a long time to get that.

LOL Wow all I can say is MOO!! haha
I don't fit in the poll either. Either I just don't have luck pumping, have a bad pump or what but the most I ever have gotten is 5oz from one side. I hate pumping anyway so maybe this is why. I hardly ever pump! Only when I'm so full and it's not close to feeding time.

Wow! I think everyone has me beat. Annabelle is only sleeping 7 hours but I have to get up 4 hours after she goes down because I feel like I am about to pop. However, the most I've ever pumped at once was 6 ounces.  And hare I've been thinking that was a lot.

20+ oz, and I was exclusively nursing when I was at home. This was after I full returned to work and did not have time to wake baby before I went to work. I pumped shortly after I got to work and all I remember is that it was more than 20. Not sure exactly how much. I have a problem with overabundance of milk to the extreme. It was very difficult to deal with, but I was very grateful that I didn't have to deal with under production because I think that would have been equally as stressful, if not more.

Wow... I would have taken the poll, but I don't think I have ever pumped more than 4 oz at one time. I have a very small storage capacity, but not a small supply.  She was very healthy and exclusively BF. She just fed more frequently than the average baby.

i think mine was 10 oz tho i find the more i pump the more engorged i get so now i just feed straight from breast much easier but i dont work so i can do that

I get a sense of pride with the more I can pump - is that twisted?! I know when I feed my daughter rather than pumping after she sleeps through the night she doesn't empty me out and it is super uncomfortable to be engoraged that much.  When I pump I want to get it all out as to not develop blocked ducts. Most mornings I wake up before she does.

Thanks to all for responding!  It's fun to have this forum to have exchanges like this!

I never, ever pumped. Why should I when I had a pumper baby? So put me down for zero. You might think I get the booby prize, but in my book, I win.

When I exclusively pumped at the beginning I pumped 10oz every 4 hours.

When going from pumping to feeding from breast I was engorged and in pain all the time. it took 6 months for my supply to regulate. I still leak but we don't get the green poos anymore.

I now just pump one side in the morning and get 5oz. I'm trying to rebuild my freezer supply. I'm only working one day a week so I really don't need that much in the freezer.

I"ve been EPing since day one, and by 12 weeks gave up my MOTN pumping, I went for 9-12 hours and every morning my first pump is 25 oz, I believe my largest amount was about 30 oz, maybe 32.

My girl has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks (I know I'm lucky!  Although she doesn't nap much anymore)

Are you serious!  You got that much when you pump?!  Holy buckets!  I'm impressed!  You must be in so much pain when you wake up from being so full!!!

my current record is 18 ounces, but that was AFTER she ate.  i have never gone more than 6 hours between feeding or pumping, so who knows what i'd get if i went all night....

My record is also 21 ounces.  I was pretty damn proud of myself.  I'm not going to lie. During my good old days I used to average 9-10 ounces a pump session.  Now my little guy (almost 18 months) is off on vacation with his nana and I'm pumping again after not doing it for a month.  I've been pumping 6-8 times a day in an attempt to up my supply (I kind of want to start donating again...) and so far my supply hasn't gone up (it's only been 6 days though...he gets back in two).  I've only been averaging 3 1/2 to 4 ounces a pump session.  :(  I know it's the normal progression of things, especially after not pumping for a while, but it still kind of makes me sad.  I've been producing 25-28 ounces a day.

I am so glad I found this page.  I have told friends, family and co-workers how much milk I produce and pumped and know one believed me, so I even made a YouTube video showing me pump 27 oz or 800 ml of milk. The last bit I had to hand express. Two other girls on this page have produced as much and more milk in one sitting than me and I can't wait to show my friends this page to prove I am not the only one that can pump this much milk.

Now that I have been breastfeeding my baby and pumping for 6 months, I am able to produce more than enough milk.  In fact I produce too much milk and started to freeze the excess milk for a later date.  The most I ever produced was a total of about 26 - 27 oz or 780 - 800 ml in one session.
