How do you get anything done???

How do you get anything done???

I am nursing my 10 week old baby, and yesterday I was diagnosed w/ early stages of Mastitis and told every time I nurse her to pump after to make sure I am empty. Well, now I have that on my list as well as I don't feel like I can go anywhere because I can't pump if I'm at the mall or anywhere. I usualy would pump right before bed at night and after her morning feedings and that was it. How am I suposed to get anything done when it seems like by the time I feed her and pump, it is time to start all over again?

i would only do this untii your mastitis clears. if you continue to do this, you will cause over production which may interfere with nursing. i'd only pump if she misses a feed or she falls asleep and you feel really full. And the only other time i'd pull out the pump is if you feel a sore spot or lump. give yourself a feel after each session to see if it's really necessary.
of course, these are my thoughts and not professional advice. hopefully others will share their opinions as well.

I agree with tired; I would only pump if you still feel really full or have sore/ hard spots. Over production is no fun and will give you a whole host of new problems. I would recommend standing in a hot shower and letting the water flow over your breasts, that gave me relief when I had mastitis. I am presuming your doc has prescribed antibiotics; that should clear it up in a few days.
