I amke too much milk continued.....

What do I do when I wake up at 5 am, engorged and Ava won't eat?? Will the cabbage leaves stop the engorgement? I am on antibiotics now because I let myself get engorged too many times and I have mastisis. Thanks for your help.

I would pump and store the milk for later use. I frequently woke up engoreged as you make more milk in the am. I would just pump and I still had plenty of milk when he was ready to feed. You don't have to pump to empty if you are making to much milk, but pump out some so you don't get mastistis again. It is important to nurse/pump frequently while treating mastitis.

Thanks. I already have about 100+ bags in my freezer in the garage!! I have been pumping for comfort and I think my milk is finally starting to regulate. I got myself into this situation from pumping too much in the beginning. I probably have enough milk & make enough for twins!! My LC actually didn't really have any answers for me because usually women have a low milk production.....so she was at a loss with me??? What I am doing now is finally working, lets keep our fingers crossed!
