Struggling on breast pumping+feeding!!

My baby is 3 months old...i hav a low milk supply.I started taking some herbs goat's rue, nursing tincture.i don't take fenugreek since it creats clogged milk ducts.since my baby drinks very slow , i choose toexclusively pump.here is my schedule.
8.30am -12.00am-3.30pm-7.00pm-10.30pm-4.00am.each time i pump i get only 2-3 oz.rarely 4 oz.i am giving extra formula to my baby to make up.
Here is real problem:even after nursing my baby(i did it before, not now)+pumping every 3 hours plus taking lots of fluid, herbs, i get clogged milk ducts IN BACK SIDE OF MY BREASTS!!.NO MILK IN FRONT OF MY BREATS!!it is very difficult to take out milk even for my baby sucking for half an hour!!pumping!!.I hav got mastitis 5 times.everyone says drink plenty of fluid, nurse, pump...i DO EVERYTHING...STILL no milk...and clogged milk ducts(PAINFUL).It looks very weired for me why things are not working for me even after 3.5 months.Sometimes I feel like giving up on breast milk.but my heart won't listen looking at my son.....Anyone please any advice for my situation!!..any similar experience??.

Have you tried lecithin?  I had a lot of blocked ducts, and that seemed to help.  Also breast compressions might help- I would do that while pumping.  I wiould also take a warm shower with a hand pump and pump out the blockages.
What kind of pump do you use?  You might need a hospital grade pump to get maximum draw.
Kudos to you for your perserverence!

Also make sure your bra isn't too tight- I was wearing nursing tanks, and the extra pressure caused a lot of blocked ducts until I finally figured that out.

What pump do you have? Sometimes the pump can make a huge difference too.

Well that should be a good enough pump.
I would recommend changing the little white valves in the collection kits regularly too. The slightest hairline crack or tear in them and they don't work at creating enough suction.
You could also try and hand pump like the medela. You can do long expressions with one of these and that can really help remedy those clogged ducts.
Hot flannels compressed on the areas where the cloggs occur prior to expressing can help too.

That's true- I was going crazy trying to figure out why I suddenly couldn't get the pump to work until I changed the valves- hey presto!

i have heard chinesebones' recommendation for lecithin for others, and they also said it helped with chronic clogs. I also agree with the bra recommendations. I never wore underwire. And be sure to use a sleep bra at night instead of a regular bra (that is, if you need a bra at all. I needed one for the pads).
Have you tried compressions while nursing and pumping? You can find instructions online and can help loosen clogs.

As mum suggested, I had much more luck using a manual to get clogs out. I used the double electric regularly, but it i ever felt a clog, I would s.uck it out with the manual. I found the cheap medela that looks like a bike pump that comes free with the pump in style or in the medela hospital pump accessory kit to work very well. It is very harsh for regular pumping, but effective at drawing out clogs because I could control it and make it do long, hard s.ucks.

Since you are exclusively pumping, make sure you play around with different settings on your pump. Stronger is not always better. Also, make sure the horns fit you properly. If they do not, you may not be able to pump effectively. If they are too tight, they may be constricting milk flow. Warm compress before pumping may help. Also, you may want to give manual expression a shot. Some people actually have more luck with that, although it may take a little practice.
