When do I start Pumping

So this is my second question today.... sorry ;)

My son is 1 week old. With my first I never pumped, but I did breast feed exclusively for 18 months. I was given the Medella Pump in Style Pump and was wondering when I could start using it. I don't want to pump that much, but it would be nice to give my husband a bottle of breast milk and have him feed DS.

i'd hold off for a while (i think they say 2 months?- maybe someone else can chime in here). They say the baby can get nipple confusion if the bottle is introduced too early.

Hi,

I started pumping straight away. But then I went back to work straight away.
Baby is now 7 weeks and we've had no problem going between breast and bottle.  I just insist that she takes breast only when I'm home and now she does it without fussing.  

However, for the bottles get slow flow ones.  My baby also got introduced to the bottle in the first week.  however, just keep your little one going frequently between the two so he doesn't get to prefer just one or the other.... and will take both easily.

Every baby is different, so just experiment with what works for you both.  You'll be fine.
