Yeast infection in breast ...

I have been breastfeeding my daughter since birth (March 1) and have had latching issues with my right breast. Up until a few days ago, I was nursing her on both breasts with the right being extremely painful. After finally talking to a LC, I was advised to nurse from the left and pump the right until my wounds healed completely. So that's what I've been doing only now, I've noticed that after I pump, there is this white film across the opening of my nipple. I've tried to gently wipe it off (thinking it was milk) with no luck. When my nipple is completely dry, it is way less noticeable. I will be contacting my OBGYN on Monday but wanted to get some opinions first. Thanks ladies!

Is the breast/nipple red and painful and/or get painful even when baby isn't nursing or you're pumping? It sounds similar to a thrush infection. You can see if baby has any white patches in their mouth as well. Your doctor should be able to confirm if that's the issue or not.

It's not at all painful and I've only noticed it since I stopped nursing on that side and began pumping only. Does the milk it produces carry the infection too? (if I did have it). As far as her mouth goes, I haven't noticed any white patches but I will definetly keep an eye out.
