The baby needs to eat until they are satiated. Best to nurse off of one breast for at least 15 minutes and if still hungry, switch to the other breast. If still hungry, then offer solids.

Breastmilk should come before solids as it is more nutritionally complete.

it varies for every child. In general, babies take much less breastmilk than formula, so if you're wondering because people make comments about how little he eats, they're probably comparing him to a bottlefed baby. 24-30 ounces per day should be sufficient, but some babies do require more. it can be 4-5 6 ounce bottles a day, or if he take bigger feeds it may be less bottles. you can also ask your ped specific questions.

My now 10 month old gets bottles of expressed milk when I'm at work - he takes 8oz in a bottle.  We give the milk after solid foods.  Between bottles/food/nursing - he gets fed about 5 times a day.  He gets solid food  first thing, then 8oz bottle.  next feeding is an 8oz bottle.  3rd feeding of the day is cereal and then nursing. Dinner is solid food and nursing - then nursing at bed.  This is what he's been doing for some time now and it works well for us.
