Absolutely up to you. Some cultures BF until 3  or 4.  As long as you are both happy, go for it!  You can google baby led weaning. The principal is don't offer, but don't refuse.  Eventually the child will stop.

It is a personal choice. WHO recommends two years, and I want to stop at around that age as I plan on working soon. But do what you think is right, you've done a great job so far :-)

Mama has to be happy too. At a certain point I get antsy and don't want to breastfeed anymore. I breastfed all four of mine, but the longest I ever lasted was 18 months. All of them are healthy adults.

You should nurse as long as you and baby are happy to. The AAP recommends breastfeeding until AT LEASE two yrs old. My dd just weaned herself the week she turned 4. There is nothing wrong with giving your child liquid gold until you choose to stop. A friend of mine nursed her son until almost 5 yrs old.

Haha well, she probably allowed the weaning to be child-led... the most beneficial form of weaning. I plan to do the same. Hope I don't step on her record. ;) (children typically wean themselves between 2 and a half to 6 years old)
