7 month old at 17lbs.  I voted 16-19 because I sure hope he doesnt gain two pounds in the next 2 months!  Dont worry...after 1, the weight change istn nearly as dramatic.

i just typed the longest thing then lost it!! :(  anyway, i just want to know cuz i was told that i was feeding my almost 8m, next week, too much!! he is 24-25 lbs!!!  was not large at birth, just exploded around 2-3m.  i pump exclusive since 3m, and now he also gets pureed fruits and veggies 2 sometimes 3x a day. he is VERY active crawling and pulling up by himself, but still not 1 tooth yet!!!!!  i haven't really thought much about it till i say a little boy walking around today, he was12m and same size or smaller then ryder!!  i am alone with a huge toddler??  lol, please i really want to hear from everyone and anyone!!

Hi,

Don't worry about your baby being big as long as he is getting breastmilk (on demand) and healthy foods (fruits, veges, and meats) with no junk.  He will likely slim down as he gets older.

Don't worry about the teeth either.  There is a huge range of what is normal. My daughter got her first tooth at 10 months.

dd was 21.5 lbs at her 9 month check. she's a moose, but i guess not as big as yours. we just started to add more formula since i weaned, but it was mostly ebm til now.

she still takes 24-28 ounces/day of milk or formula. and she eats 3 HUGE meals with us. She is also completely toothless but will eat just about anything. Her favorite is steak and chicken :) She eats very balanced meals- loves veggies and will eat both steamed pieces cut up and purees. She will have cheese and meat with most meals as well. Of course, macs n cheese sneaks its way in every other week. We discovered yesterday she loves pasta with meat sauce. By the way, by huge meals, I'm talking a slice of cheese, a slice or 2 of steak, along with veggies cut up and a gerber container of stage 2. While all of this 3 times/day, along with 24-28 ounces sounds like a lot, she has actually started to slim down dramatically as she is moving and standing.

My LC told me that current growth curves are based on formula-fed babies and not breastfed babies. Breastfed babies naturally get very chunky early on and then slim down quickly. She said it's a healthier pattern. That's exactly what happened to my first who looked like a little sumo baby but now at 2 1/2 can't keep a pair of pants up.  In fact, she and my 9 month old share bathingsuit bottoms :)

Do not worry about his weight. My son was breastfed exclusively and was almost 20lb at 4 1/2 months.my doctor was concerned and told me to hold off on solids till he was at least 6 months. At 9 months he was 24lbs. He started walking at 10 1/2 months and stopped gaining weight because he was so active. He is now 19 months and is 26lb( 45%) and 34in(85%) for height. The doctor says he is perfectly healthy and all his measurements are right in line. I only stopped breastfeeding him at 18months because I am 7 months pregnant.

I know someone that had a 26 lb 6 month old...  I wouldn't worry too much.  At this age isn't it all feed on demand...?  I didn't vote b/c I don't remember how much my son weiged at that age - he was right around the 75%ile for height/weight...

My Abigail is 7 1/2 months old and I weighed her yesterday - she is 21 lbs!!!!! She is a long baby though - she is not fat - she is well proportioned. She drinks 20 oz of breastmilk everyday and 4 oz formula and likes 2 smooth meals of fruit and veggies everyday and every other day has some baby porridge in the morning. She's up in the above-average range but she is so healthy and well proportioned, I think she is absolutely fine. :)

Owen is 19 lbs at 6.5 months. I'm sure he will be over 20 within a month. We just started solids about 2 weeks ago, so this is all on BM alone! It doesn't seem too big to me!

My daughter is only 6 months, but I voted 16-19, because she is 14 lbs now and averaging about a pound gained a month.  My older daughter was only 12lbs 7oz at 6 months and at 5 years is still extremely thin at 34 pounds. Both were exclusively breastfed until beginning some solids after 6 months.

My Abigail had 30 oz of breastmilk everyday up to 7 months, since then she has been having less (20 oz everyday) since my milk supply went down due to changing my pumping routine. So Abigail also got big off breastmilk!!! :D

I didn't vote because my son isn't 8 months old yet, but he is four months old and weighs 17½ lbs. I'd guess in another four months, he'll be over 20 lbs.
