So I stopped BFing DD 2 yrs ago after nursing for 13 months, over the past couple of months I've noticed what I think is a lumpLumps in the breasts almost under my nipple, this area is very tender at times (that's how I found it) I can only feel it from one angle, i can't feel it from the top or sides, just underneath it. I've been to the Dr who couldn't feel it and I had an U/S done which was normalNormal saline flush. I can only feel it when I am leaning forward, not when I'm lying down. (I am small busted). Could this just be a duct that I am feeling?
It could be a clogged duct, maybe not. It's reassuring to hear that nothing appeared on your u/s, but have you had a mammogram? A mammogram will detect so much more in detail than an u/s.
No mammo (I actually don't know if I have enough tissue to do a mammo, and I'm only 28) I see my usual ob/gyn on the 17th. It's been 2 yrs since I stopped BFing! I don't know if it's been there the entire time or if it's new. I know the tenderness is new, but not constant.
And because it's been 2yrs since you stopped BFing, is exactly why you need to get it looked at. If it were during or soon after you stopped BFing, a Dr or lactation consultant would recommend you continue to use a breast pump to break up the clogged duct...or they might suggest you massage the lumpLumps in the breasts to breakup the growth. My sister is VERY small chested and just had a mammogram, one way or another, they are able to get it done. If you think something is not right, you need to check it out. You'll be glad you did! Please don't let this go undetected.
