Burn wound itchies?

Im a swazi aged 36yrs. When i was aged 3yrs i got burnt by hot water on the chest. When i was four years it had all healed. As i grew up it began to itch. Till to this date it itchies. What help can i get?

Hi Swazi,
How are you? Burn scar tissue usually lacks oil glands found in normal skin which causes dryness and lack of hydration. Aside from this, stimulation of skin sensory nerve fibers by  histamine can lead to pruritus or chronic itching. You may benefit with skin moisturizers, cool baths. massage therapy and antihistamine medication. If it persists, check with your physician for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.

Immediately put cold water on the burn. Apply scrapped potatoes on the burn as it has cooling properties. Thanks a lot.
