Supportive Bible Verses

I am responsible for sending cards to people in our church that are sick, discouraged, or/and recently suffering the loss of a loved one.  I need some Bible verses to write on these cards that I send out.  I was wondering if anyone is willing to share the texts of some verses especially meaningful to them during difficult times.  Thank you for your help.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lead not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5,6

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? Matthew 6:25-27

I will not forget My promises because I am a merciful God. Deuteronomy 4:31

And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. Isaiah 46:4

MATTHEW 5:3-10 THE BEATITUDES.

For he knows our frame, he remembers that we are dust. Psalms 103:14

Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. Psalms 27:10

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.Proverbs 17:22

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.Psalms 27:14

For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.Psalms 107:9

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him Nahum 1:7

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me. John 14:1

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:25-30

In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory." "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:52-57

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." Revelation 21:4

I could go on forever... My bible is marked with all kinds of promises. Usually I add my name to the promise so it becomes really real.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee:  be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.  ISAIAH 41:10 KJV

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  ISAIAH 40:31 KJV

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  MARK 11:23-24 KJV

I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.  PSALM 18:3 KJV

There hath no temptation taken (overtaken) you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear (endure) it.  1 CORINTHIANS 10-13 KJV

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform (complete) it until the day of Jesus Christ.  PHILIPPIANS 1:6 KJV

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.  They cried unto thee , and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded (ashamed).  PSALM 22 4-5 KJV
