I made up my mind.. I'm singing Neville Peter, Let Him In...:D
I'm going to look up all your suggestions right now...
Some of these songs I know.. some I don't. I want to sing Just As I Am by Nichole Nordeman but I'm a little scared to do that song because I've never sung it before. Although it's a small church, I still want it to be done well...
Anyways, I'll look up your suggestions and see if it works for the 24th.
Thanks everyone! :D
I like the old hymns like His eye is on the Sparrow and another one that is so beautiful in its words is the following:
O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go
George Matheson, 1842–1902
1. O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in Thee;
I give Thee back the life I owe,
That in Thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.
2. O Light that foll'west all my way,
I yield my flick'ring torch to Thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in Thy sunshine's blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.
3. O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to Thee;
I trace the rainbow thru the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.
4. O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from Thee;
I lay in dust life's glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.
Lyrics: George Matheson
You can youtube it & find artist who have sung it :-)
My friend is going to sing a duet tomorrow with her sister in church. They are singing "You will never walk alone" by Point of Grace. I listened to them practice the song and it's so pretty!
I like "Above All". I think it's by Michael W. Smith but it's a real pretty song.
I love the one Brian mentions, and my favorite traditional hymn is In The Garden. beautiful lyrics.
.how about.."I can only Imagine"...by Mercy ME...wonderful beautiful song
Thanks everybody for the ideas...
Yes the elder said she would let me know what the topic would be, but I'm thinking it's gonna be too late when she tells me so I'm just gonna go with anything.
This church is very new. It has about 10 people so I'm thinking it doesn't really have to go with the message. I think everyone would understand...
I've been looking at Amazing Grace and It is Well With My Soul by Wintley Phipps but I can't compare to that lol.. So I dunno perhaps..
That's a good idea to see what the sermon will be first and see if you can find a song that will go with the message.
I like so many, it would be hard to choose!
You may want to know what the sermon will be about and see if a song comes to mind that relates to that. Maybe the pastor could reccommend one.
You could go with the classic Amazing Grace-Chris Tomlin. Another song I love is the Revelation Song.
The first time I heard this song was in church, but before it was sang, the story of it was told to us. I have never ever forgotten it!
It is well with my soul. Guaranteed glory bumps!
