reading items versus comments

Can a person read an item without making any comment.  If so is there anyway of knowing how many have read an article?  

The reason I ask is I have noticed there are just a few comments on poems, prayers or quotations that I  have posted.

I appreciate the comments I do recieve but am willing to be more selective in what I post if it is just taking up space.

I read this and see where it may sound sorta selfish or self centered but I really do not mean it to be taken that way.  I am sure anyone that reads my messageses and postes know typing is difficult and I continue to make alot of spelling and typigraphical errors.  

Please let me know if I need to give things a break or if I should continue sharing.  Thanks for the input.

Stubby, please continue to share you journal posts =0) I think a lot of people read them without commenting. Just look at some of mine, but I will always continue to post because if one person reads it and it means something special to them you have done a wonderful thing =0)

thanks for your reassurance.  Guess that is what I need.  I am goinh thru a little bit of insecurity and self doubt.  I always like your comments and quotes and I know I don't always leave a message.  I guess I was real doubtful because when I first got involved I was really bad at the typing and spelling.  I felt maybe I made them so difficult to read people would see a post by me and just not bother reading it.  Anyway, thanks again and this too shall pass.

all I can say is if you feel led to post then away..post till you cant post no more.....I read everything thsat is posted i dont always comment on things...but I do read everything....and you are never wasting anyones time or taking anyones space...if you feel it needs posted then post...God Bless...brian

Sometimes I feel the same way. I've been tempted to leave on occasion. I don't feel I fit in here as well as others.

I can sure relate to how you feel and you too MJ. I have not been here for awhile, but when I am and read things, I try to comment, sometimes I can not think of anything to say, or feel that what I have to say is not important.

I sometimes get my feelings hurt too when I post things and get no response, but then, I am so insecure, and sensitive. I am a member of another Christian forum, and I stayed away for over 4 months because I was hurt due to their lack of response. I am now back and have told them how I felt. They said they liked what I posted, but, sometimes did not know what to say in a comment, or they just did not have a comment.

So, I think a lot of us love to read what others have posted, but, sometimes we just do not reply, it is nothing against the poster, it is just that we either do not think to answer or we plain do not have any comment, but rest assured, the posts are very much appreciated.
