Culvitating Joy

Through His great and
precious promises,
God generously sprinlkes
His seeds of joy in our hearts.
Yet too often we reap a
havest of misery.
Joy's seed
requires deep furrows of faith,
sprouts in the rich soil of trust,
is nourished by dauly
soaking in God' Word,
blossoms in eager response to
His love,
grows strong through
winds of adversity,
and bears fruit only as we
stay rooted in obedience to
Christ's commands.
And how true that
the tender seedling of God's joy
and the stubborn weed of
self pity
cannot survive in the same garden!
