Clomid OPK's & Sex

I start Clomid 50mg today day 3 of cycle.  I get so confused by all this.  I know that I should get the OPK's but the question is when should we have sex.  Should we not have sex until the OPK is positive? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would suggest having sex starting CD8 every other day...

Is your cycle usually long?  If you're going in at day 21, that would most probably be after ovulation so you should use that OPK, but wait until 3 days after you stop to Clomid so that you don't get false positive.  The test your doc will be doing is most probably to see if you've ovulated.

Yes my doctor prescribed the clomid and said take the clomid on cycle day 3 and then by day 21 come in and she would do blood work to check my levels.  It's just so overwhelming. lol!  I want to make sure I am doing it right.  Thank you for your response.

Stephanie are you just taking the Clomid or is your doc monitoring you?  I'm not sure it's always the case, but in my situation, I did Clomid and my doc monitored me by taking u/s a couple of days after my last Clomid so that he could check development of the follicles (eggs).  Since there was 1 mature enough, I was given a trigger shot to induce ovulation and since I opted out of doing IUI, he just said to BD as much as possible for the rest of the week.  If your using the OPK, go ahead and BD at least every other day until you get yuor positive and as much as possible up to at least 3 days after.  Good Luck and SSBD to you!
