about to start clomid and....NERVOUS!

hey ladies! I have a few questions for anyone thats taken Clomid to try to conceive! I 28, healthy and arried for alost 4 years. My husband and I have been TTC for 17 months now with no luck :( I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my dr has prescribed Clomid 100mg (two 50mg tablets daily) on days 3-7 which I am scheduled to begin around the 10th of March... I AM NERVOUS! does anyone know what the difference is with taking it right at start of cycle vs later (day 3-7)? I heard the chances of multiples are higher when taken later in AF as prescribed by Dr.? also anyone suffer from the lovely side effects (painful AF, headache, mood swings, hot flashes etc)? wanna know what Im in for! lol I hope this works! Im soooo emotionally hurt everytime AF time comes around each month! :( best wishes for everyone TTC and all the baby dust in the world to you all!

thanks for the info! my hubby and I have been TTC since 10/2009, I had the tie test done to check for blocked tubes which was when I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 months ago. My dr decided to go with the clomid route 1st before attempting corrective surgery. are you TTC with your husband every other day after finishing the pill  cycle? my dr suggested that but Ive read mixed info! Im not so worried about the side effects more so about the emotional rollercoaster! Good luck to you (and to you too MDGreaves!) Hopefully we can share baby stories soon! :)

Good luck MDGreaves...Start bd'ing CD8 everyother day...and everyday around O time, then back to every other day...it worked for me this time and also I drunk grapefruit juice (Ruby Red)...I got my BFP!! I hope you get yours this round...

I'm on days 3 of my first clomid cycle (cd 2-6) and I have absolutely no side effects I just hope it works for me.

I also was dx'd with PCOS.  I have a really agressive RE and she immediately had me go through corrective surgery with ovarian drilling, then put me on clomid 50mg.  1st round, got BFP - but ended in m/c.  Finally on our 2nd round of 50mg again this month, tomorrow is my last pill.  Taking it days 3-7 or 5-9 are most common, with the earlier helping produce more follicles, and the later days producing less but more mature follicles.  There really isn't a huge difference according to my RE and the research I've done.  I'm 26, DH is 28, and have been TTC #1 since 6/09.  I haven't had any major side effects, other than a little more emotional than usual.  I'm going in for my follicle scan next week, best of luck and sticky baby dust to you!!!

I'm not sure if I did because my belly was full of air after my laproscopic surgery...Metformin is actually a medicine for diabetics, but doctors are prescribing it for PCOS patients...it helps with insulin resistance...This is my very first pregnancy and I often wonder if I am preggo because I have very few symptoms...the one prominent one is the sore boobs...I hope that you have good luck!!!

how about any excessive bloating while on Clomid? what is metformin? is it to be taken with Clomid? my dr started me with 3 months of Clomid to "see what that does"...... Im so tired of waiting! lol did you miscarry at all before this successful pregnancy?  I heard the chances are higher before a successful pregnancy. My dr said day 8 every other day too! thanks for the advice! good luck to you in the pregnancy! :)

I too have PCOS...It took me 8 rounds of clomid before I got my BFP...I also had to take metformin...I'm currently 6wks 5days...I suffered from hot flashes when I was taking 100mg of clomid...as far as the dosage it depends on the doctor...you will also have to have sex during your fertile period to get the best results....I would start having sex on CD8 every other day...good luck!!
