cancerous polyp in colon

I've recently undergone colonoscopy treatment. One of three polyps removed was found to be cancerous. The doctor said he thinks he got all of the cancer but the only way to be sure is to have a  resection. Is there another route I can take? I am in good health. I am 57 years of age.

Thanks
David Waterhouse

You should have a resection either laparoscopy or open.  This is standard of care.

dave if the dr. didn't get all the polyp the cancer will grow ...either cause restriction , possible rupture..or metastatize to more cancer...in other areas of the body...colon resection would be my choice{I'm a surgical tech}. My advice is to ask about the possibility of having it done laparoscopic..they'll  may tatoo the site of the cancer during another colonoscopy, probably the schedule the surgery for a few days later...I'm not sure about other treatment like chemo but I wouldn't take the chance
