I'm just about 27 years old and I've had this hard lump under my ear for about 3 months now. Its growing and now it's about 3 cm long and 3 cm wide. It's not painful and I believe it's a lymph node. It's really hard- bone hard and it's stuck to something inside of my neck, I can barely move it. My daughter has been extremely sick for the past several months and so I basically put myself on the back burner. Now I'm realizing that wasnt smart. Over the last month I have started having night sweats almost every night. I'm exhausted and I have lost 10 lbs in the last month and a half or two (I'm barely 100 lbs now). I've been having headaches, although they are gradually getting worse and more frequent. Not sure If I have been having fevers I dont dare to check my temp- this will worry me even more than I already am, though I do feel really warm a lot. When I started feeling crummy about two months ago I was also getting mild chest pain and that hasnt stopped. I have had a cold for the last couple of weeks and my chest pain is pretty bad now, I'm not sure if it's from my cold or from whatever else is going on. I just ache all over and I'm really shaky now and I get light headed easily. I went to the doctor Monday and she checked for mono and my thyroid. Those came out fine. She also did an xray of my neck (where the largest nodes are) and it came out inconclusive. She is now either going to do an MRI or a biopsy because she finds these nodes to be very worrisome. Now the one under my other ear appears to be growing quite rapidly. She is supposed to call me today and set up something. My dad just told me that they think he has lymphoma due to a lump in his neck and underarm. They're testing him now. Is this kind of thing genetic??? Have any of you had all of these crazy symptoms and it turned out to be not so serious? What about those of you with lymphoma? Did you have all of the symptoms? What were your night sweats like- did you have them every night or just some nights? Mine are nearly everynight. I dont "drench" the sheets, but I do need to change my pajamas and my pillow- those get drenched. What was it like for you? Thanks for your input!
