3cm Inguinal Lymph Node

by windy182, Nov 06, 2009 02:29PM
I am a 50 year old female. About two years ago I was pressing against a cabinet below a counter top and felt some pain in my groin. I felt around and discovered a lymph node that was tender. Eventually the pain went away but the lymph node stayed large. Throughout the course of a day, it changes is size. I eventually forgot about it and had no more pain. Flash forward 2 years and my leg has a kind of aching near the lymph node but more towards the nodes in my thigh. I have an ultrasound and it is 2.6cm. A few nearby nodes are a little enlarged but not significantly. Flash forward to another ultrasound 6 months later and the node is 3 cm. The other nodes are slightly enlarged. I have no other symptoms. I do have a varicose vein in that side in my leg that is quite extensive.I am allergic to everything that grows, and cats and dust, and started taking allergy shots about a year ago. I've had two attacks of shingles over the past 6 years but not in the past two. They were very mild attacks.. Two years ago I broke my ankle if that is at all significant. It healed well but left me with occasional middle toes light numbness that doesn't last long. My Ca125 has been tested twice in the past 6 months and is normal, so no ovarian cancer. My paps are clear yearly. I had an abdominal CT in June and all the organs looked good save for a few ovarian cysts that have since shrunk and the node was still 3cm. I am petrified that I have lymphoma but the one node has been enlarged for years and seems to be growing slowly as well as spreading to the other inguinals. I am schedule to see a surgeoun next week who I am sure will want a biopsy.

I should add that I am very active, playing tennis, do a lot of walking, and working on our little farm. I have plenty of energy and feel great. The ache in my leg is on and off and sometimes nothing for days or even weeks. Does this sound like lymphoma?
