Acral lentiginous melanoma

I have a patient with an open wound on his foot due to his melanoma.  I would stage it a stage III if it were a pressure ulcer.  It has some slough, no necrosis.  I was wondering what would be the best wound care and dressing for this melanoma.

Hi Dianne,
The same nursing principles that are used for care of ulcers apply here.
I am not sure if there are any effective or approved drugs that confer special benefit while dressing the ulcers in melanoma.

Have you been advised on hyperbarics for wounds, I'm not sure if they would be helpful in this instance but perhaps a consideration.
