Bioidentical replacement therapy

I am 74 and just had a total hysterectomy for uterine cancer.  Should BHRT be started now?  My oncologist  says he usually waits a year.  Should  I be concerned?   I am having terrible hot flashes and am nervous and jumpy.   Please help. Thank you.

Is your Oncologist aware of this?

Any chemo or radiation planned?

I am guessing he wants to be certain the cancer is not returning before introducing any hormones eg. estrogen use has been linked to Uterine CA in some studies; some physicians believe there is a link and procede cautiously when prescribing BHRT and some physician believe there is NO link at all.
