Bump on my lower sternum that changes in size often

Ive had this bump on my chest specifically on my sternum and for some while and it changes in size very often. It been there for about a year, and it is hard and a good size larger than a pea at its most noticeable point. Sometimes it feels as if nothing is there and my rib cage is normal. If any of you can describe what this might be it would help me out a lot thanks. I dont think its cancer. Perhaps a lymph node problem?

Have you been able to have a doctor evaluate it?  Due to it changing in size, and it being hard-  I would get it looked at.

Let us know what you are able to find out after seeing a doctor- hope all is well!

It does not sound like a lymph node. Although there are lymph nodes along the edges of the sternum, I don't believe there are any lymph nodes OVER the sternum. Perhaps it is a bony outgrowth from the sternum itself.
