As someone else in their 40s who had also had thyroid cancer, I understand the concern for screenings. Talk to your doctor. I'm no expert but you should be having (as cutthroat mentioned) your 6-12 month scans, x-rays, and blood tests. You also should (based just on your age, gender, and the fact that you have had cancer) have your skin checked for skin cancers, get your prostate checked, and have a colonoscopy. Your doctor may also want to check for specific things based on your lifestyle and family history.
Yeah - no fun. It's only April and I've already had four cancer screenings this year . . . still have a few more to go. :-)

First, no cancer is ever a good cancer. Pap thyca is a very treatable cancer (which causes people to say good...cancer = bad, that's why it's cancer!) with a great outcome. It is slow growing and usually quite easy to treat. Calling it a good cancer is a peeve of mine...
Are you asking about general cancer screening tests or further testing for thyca? As long as you are getting your annual scans and blood work done (checking your Tg, TSH, etc), you will be well followed for thyca. Your risks of having other cancers as a result are really no higher now than they were prior to your thyca dx. I would continue to have an annual physical (or start if you don't) and bring up any health concerns with him or her.
