Chemo

I am an active 76 year old and was initially diagnosed with metastatic ductal carcinoma, triple negative (Radiologist). However, the oncologist downgraded this to Stage 2, ER/PR -HER2neu+ . CBC showed no tumor markers, PET scan showed large tumor in left breast and 2 positive lymph nodes.
Treatment: Chemo with Herceptin and Taxol, followed by surgery. A port was put in last Thursday. I am completely terrified of the chemo. Also, I still have bruising and some pain in the area of the port. I was assured a spray would be used. I will be given anti nausea meds, but the side effects of both drugs are horrifying, especially the possibility of heart failure and neuropathy. I was assured I'd be monitored carefully.
I presume this is standard treatment for this type of breast cancer? I have confidence in the capabilities of both oncologist and surgeon and I suppose it is better to die of heart failure than of cancer. What a choice.
