Colon Cancer?

My mom have colon cancer stage4, even the her doctor said she need chemo, i still want to ask for other expert advice! Can you pls, tell me more about this colon cancer, and what kind of chemotherapy she need, and what is the percentage of assurance that she will be heal?

Hi Miaka, it sounds like she has had the cancer for while so it has grown to invade other tissues, there are different stages of cancer stages 1-4.  4 usually means it's invading other areas so if her doctor says chemo is the best treatment option she has the choice of doing the chemo or refusing it but in stage 4 you need the chemo drugs to battle and kill the cancer tumors/cells.  Nobody can guarantee she will be totally healed, there are no guarantees on anything in life but with the treatment she has a good fighting chance.  My friends little boy had stage 4 cancer late late stage, it was in the kidney and spread to spleen, pancreas, and lungs.  He had surgery to remove the originial tumor in the kidney and they removed the spleen and part of pancreas, and chemo with radiation to fight the rest of the tumor.  The chemo he had killed the rest of it, he's been cancer free for 10 months now and doing very good.  That might be how it goes for your mom as well, nobody can say for sure what the odds are but her doctor.
