Colon cancer and urinary symptoms

Hello,

Does anyone know if colon cancer can also cause frequent urination? I am not asking about metastasis. I was only wondering if the tumor can grow big enough and somehow press the bladder and/or kidneys before causing any intstinal obstruction.

Thank you very much!

Hi.  It is possible for the urinary tract and the urinary bladder to become affected by a colon or rectal cancer.  The colorectal mass can grow large enough to either impinge on the bladder or the ureters, or to directly invade urinary bladder tissue.  When this happens, a variety of urinary symptoms can occur, including frequent urination. However, the kidneys do not usually get involved in this type of cancer.
