Colon polyps?????

Hi i am a 57 year old woman and i was called into my doctors office to review results of my stool exam.  my doctor trold me that i have stage one colon cancer or polyps????  he said not to worry about it because it is still only in its early stage and it can be removed???. Can it be removed and once itis removed what if if comes back from the lab as cancerous??? im really scared are these things life threatning??  are they common? can u fully recover from them???

and yes people have fully recovered - the earlier it's caught the better the chances are and yours has been caught early so just keep your thoughts positive, take it easy right now,
find something you enjoy doing and leave it in god's hands.

Hi.

Stage 1 colon cancer means that the cancer has spread beyond the innermost tissue layer of the colon wall to the middle layers, but is still confined within the colon. This is usually treated by resection and anastomosis. This has the best prognosis of all colon cancers.

Most people who have their stage 1 colon cancers operated on have fully recovered from them.
