Could it be a tumor?

For a few years now I have been getting headaches on and off. During this time I have also noticed pain developing from the base of my neck up to the right side of my skull. The area of my skull that is in pain is slightly raised and hurt if I put pressure on it. There is also a small lump that provides a jolt of sharp pain if I touch it. The headaches keep getting worse and I am now even getting pain in my ears. Does anyone have a clue what is going on here?

Headaches are very very common. Brain tumors are not common.
Headaches often cause pain in the ears too.
But as you say your pain is getting worse you should see a doctor. If I am reading this correctly you are saying the headaches are localised and always on the right. That is another reason to see your doctor.

Remember there are lots of way more common things this could be like sinus trouble, muscular things (yes tense necks can cause headaches and shooting pains), stress (see the tense comment) but you might find they can be treated and eliminated. Brain tumors almost always cause other symptoms  ie very noticeable ones (drooping eyelid, weakness, seizures, vomitting, nausea).

I had a period of many months of localised one sided headaches and pretty much eliminated them by giving up coffee, taking a course of anti-biotics for sinus, getting rid of a dusty blanket and not letting the cat sleep in the room. Basically it was gunky fluid in the tubes caused but sinus, with caffiene making everything way worse.

Good luck
