HI all and thanks for all the helpful info here. About one week ago I was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in multiple areas of my body. I'm about to have a PET scan and bone marrow biopsy (ouch). I had a lymph node removed under general anesthetic for biopsy. I will start chemotherapy in 2 weeks I think (TBC by my specialist).
Anyway, this is mostly because I had lost a lot of weight and would wake up 5 or 6 times in the night drenched in sweat for 6 months, and a persistent cough due to location of the lymph nodes close to my lungs.
Is anyone able to give me advice on controlling weight loss and night sweets? I find these a bit hard to take and looking at myself in the mirror in the morning is upsetting because I like to stay fit and healthy. Now I can't.
My specialist says 'just do the chemo' but in the meantime I want to do something. Is there any one out there with some good ideas for controlling B symptoms please?
I have to be strong guy and tell people close to me I'm OK and everything is fine and laugh at their jokes. That's getting really hard I just want to NOT be that guy for a while.
Thank you.
