Elevated CEA

MY CEA level was 2.8 one month after surgery to remove 65% of my liver. One month later it had risen to 4.0. My CEA at diagnosis was 258. Should I be concerned about this recent elevation? My oncologist wants to order a PET scan, but my surgeon has indicated that PET scans are not very accurate for several months AFTER surgery.
