Family HIstory and Cancer

My mom was diagnosed at 51 and died at 52 from cancer.
My daid was diagnosed at 61 and died from bladder cancer at 66.
My sister (half-sister, same dad & different mom's) was disgnosed at 35 with breat cancer and is still kicking and doing well!
My mom's dad was diagnosed at 50ish with brain cancer (pituitary tumor, I thini) and died at 53.

My qesutions are:
Due to the family history am a lot more likely to get cancer?
Is there one that I am more likely to get than others?
Is a full bosd scan warranted in my situtation?

Family history is just 1 of many risk factors So, it's really hard to say whether or not you're at high risk for any particular kind of Cancer... if any. But, I know how you feel because I'm in a similar situation. Both of my parents have Cancer; My paternal grandfather died of Colon Cancer; my sister has had Ovarian and Kidney Cancer; 3 of my father's siblings have died of various forms of Cancer; 2 of my mother's 6 sisters had Breast Cancer. Doctors suspect that my brother may have Prostate Cancer. And, I've had my own Breast Cancer scare (2 benign biopsies) twice in 4 years. So... it does make one stop and wonder, doesn't it?
But, you know, I don't let the fear of the unknown run my life. To me, that's not living.
My recommendation to you is what I, myself, do.
1. Have routine annual check ups/ physical exams.
2. Be mindful of changes or anything on or within your body that you sense is out of the ordinary or abnormal.
3. Maintain a healthy lifestyle (diet, exercise, weight control... etc.)
4. And, keep a positive attitude.

As for that full body scan... it'll only show what's happening in your body, now.
But, realize that it can't predict the future.
