Hi! I'm hoping someone can help. I am very worried and would appreciate help.
I have a rock solid, painless, enlarged lymph node under my jaw to the right.
It feels to be around 1-1.5 cm as is hard and feels attached to the cartilage.
It is not sore at all. My glands have been coming up and going down randomly.
They have actually ballooned up and not 5 minutes later gone back down.
I have had no fevers and only night sweats once or twice.
My ears are now starting to ache periodically and I am getting pressure headaches.
Also my throat is sore and neck is stiff. Added to this I have been feeling really fatigued.
So fatigued that I feel tired just an hour after waking up.
Lastly, I have this huge blue/black circles that have come up under my eyes.
I have had a blood test done and my white cell count is normal.
I have been on mega doses of echinacea to try to counteract my fatigue.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you
Thanks so much for any advice
How are you? It is good that the blood test results were normal. Lymph nodes can be found in a variety of places in the body including the neck and under the jaw and chin. These can become swollen from infection, inflammatory conditions, abscess, or even cancer. When swelling appears suddenly and is painful, injury or an infection ( which is the most common cause) may be considered. On the other hand, enlargement that comes on gradually and painlessly may, in some cases, result from malignancy. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. A complete physical examination and additional diagnostic tests such as chest x-ray and scan may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
My granddaughter has a similar issue. She is 8 yrs old. This knot formed up in her jaw in a weeks time. It only hurts when she touch it. She has been hospitalized for 3 days they are not sure if they should operate cause they dont think its an abscess in the glands anymore. Can u help
