my mom has lymphoma. she has had 4 five hour chemo treatments. she recently had a ct scan which showed at least 6 hypodense lesions in the spleen, largest measuring 12mm within the inferior spleen. Does this mean cancer still there, old scar tissure, cancer still there? the Dr. said her lymphoma is stage 4. What is the typical prognosis for something like this? Thank you
Okay, here is the whooole thing. two years ago I had an enlarged supraclavicular lymph node on the left side. it was around 2 centimeters in diameter, never biopsied. It came and went, and settled into a raised area in the clavicle area. I recently had tubal ligation, and had heaviness in my chest so a ct scan was ordered. nothing in the lungs, but the doctor saw 'areas of concern' in the spleen when reading the ct scan. Now I am being sent to a oesteopathic surgeon. In the last week the lymph nodes on the left back(ish) of my neck have swollen and they feel like chains of marbles. I have been experiencing some abnormal (for me) things, but based on the information I gave and the result of the ct scan what does this sound like if anything? I have been fatigued, heavy night sweats that used to happen everynight to the point of soaking my PJ's but now happen much less frequently, hair loss, a strange rash that went away after a few days, weight loss. BUT, I had a baby six months ago. I weighed 118 before pregnacy, and got back to that very quickly (3-4 months), but have lost in another 5 lbs in the past 2 weeks. I am 5'7" and feel like a walking skeleton! So that is all I can think of. Thoughts?
Symptoms you describe: Drenching night sweats, weight loss along with the presence of enlarged lymphnodes, are suggestive of lymphoma. Lymphoma can also cause "hypodense" lesions in the spleen. Please seek evaluation by a hematologist soon. He/She will probably want to get a biopsy of the lymphnode.
Good luck.
u need to provide more information if u need any meaningful answers. why was the ct done? did u ever have one before? what about the results of blood tests? hypodense areas can mean a whole range of things.
