Is yellow bone marrow an indication of bone cancer or other cancer

My friend has alot of back pain, can't sit comfortably and has been told by her MD that yellow bone marrow is possible indication of cancer.  Any information would be appreciated.

Hi.  Yellow marrow is the part of bone marrow that contains more fat than blood cells.  The red marrow is the part which is more cellular. As far as I know, the yellow marrow is not indicative of any cancer.  Cancer is detected in the bone marrow by the presence of atypical cells - those with an abnormal appearance compared with the usual marrow cells.  Bone marrow color doesn't have anything to do with the presence or absence of cancer.
