Lipomas

Do skinny people get Lipomas?  Is it possible for a Lipoma to grown to a golf ball size and actually be palpable when lying down?  I have a lump on my lower left side right where my left ovary and colon is located (I had an ultrasound and it is NOT an ovarian cyst).  Can ultrasounds see lipomas?

Could it be my colon, but what could cause a lump in the colon? I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and nothing was found inside my colon?

Hi.
Lipomas are benign tumors.  It is composed of fatty tissues.  It is located superficially on the trunk and proximal extremities majority of the time.  They are generally soft, solitary, painless, and grow slowly.
If you can feel a lump on your lower left side of the abdomen, you should consult your doctor.  You can have a CT scan done to locate the lump and its origin.
Good luck.
