Liver Lesions

Liver Lesions

I went to get a CT Scan done back in February because of pain on my right side. We thought my appendix was rupturing. Turns out it was nothing and the doctor didn't know what caused it. The test did show a Cyst on my right ovary as well as a Hemangioma on my liver. The radiologist and my Family doctor recommended we check again in 3 months just to make sure everything was staying the same.

I went for a MRI 2 days ago and the doctor calls me 3 hours after to tell me " There is confirmation of a 1.5 cm in diameter benign hemangioma within the dome of segment 8 of the liver. A 1 cm in diameter simple cyst is
seen within segment 4A of the liver. There are however, innumerable much more
subtle lesions throughput multiple segments of the liver. These are mildly
high signal intensity on T2 weighted images such as seen on series 4,. Image
14. These also exhibit some gradual progressive enhancement. This is a
non-specific appearance but could represent metastatic disease. Correlation
with PET or abdomen ultrasound with the intent of performing ultrasound guided
biopsy of solid liver lesions is therefore recommended.
I am 32 years old and my dad had intestinal cancer when he was 39. My doctor told me that they could be caused from another source and that the cancer could have spread to liver. (Is this worse case senerio)?

I go in to see a GI soon but I am worried. Should I be worried. Why would these not show up on the CT Scan done 3 months ago. Any help or comments are appreciated.
